About us
Lansing Emporium
About eight and a half years ago, I was diagnosed with CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome), a condition that causes chronic pain. For a long time, it made everyday life difficult, and I rarely left the house except for doctor’s appointments or quick errands.
During that time, I began crafting to help manage my pain and keep my hands moving. It quickly became something I loved. What started as a personal hobby turned into a small business—selling my products at craft shows, farmers markets, and online through Botanical-Organics.net. That experience sparked the idea to create something more permanent and community-focused.
Now, I’m proud to announce the opening of Lansing Emporium on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
Lansing Emporium is a consignment and artisan shop that offers secondhand clothing, handmade goods, and unique items from local creatives. We’ll begin accepting clothing for consignment in September 2025.
A core part of our mission is to support Michigan-based artists and makers. All vendors will be local to Michigan, helping to keep money in our state and strengthen the local economy. By shopping here, customers are directly supporting their neighbors, local families, and small businesses.
My 23-year-old son, who lives with rheumatoid arthritis, has also been a big part of this journey. He’s been helping out, learning, and growing alongside me. Working together on something meaningful has brought us even closer.
As a Mexican American immigrant, opening this store is not just a business milestone—it’s personal. Lansing Emporium is a space created from lived experience, hard work, and community values. It’s built to be welcoming, inclusive, and reflective of the creativity and resilience found right here in Michigan.
We’re excited to welcome you in and introduce you to the many talented local vendors we’ll be showcasing.
